Title : Proposomes as a promising approach for topical application of Allantoin intended against ultraviolet induced photoaging
Abstract:
Photoaging is one of the most common issues in the world, affecting nearly all women. The term "photoaging" describes the early aging of skin brought on by excessive exposure to ultraviolet radiation. Our study's objective was to evaluate Allantoin proposomes' ability to prevent a rat model of photoaged skin. Allantoin proposomes (ALL-PROP) were prepared and optimum formulations were selected that showed the highest encapsulation efficiencies, optimum particle size, and zeta potential. To improve application and industrial sustainability, the chosen formulation was included into a cream. The ALL-PROP loaded cream (ALL-PROP-C) showed pseudoplastic flow and shear thinning behaviour. The effectiveness of ALL loaded chosen formulation for photoaging healing was evaluated which is reflected in the histopathological study. These results support the ALL-PROP-C's further development and assessment as a viable dermatological or cosmeceutical intervention and offer insights into the potential mechanisms by which it can exert its anti-photoaging benefits.
