Biography:
Michal Abrahamowicz is a James McGill Professor of Biostatistics at McGill University, in Montreal, Canada. He develops new, flexible statistical methodology for survival analyses and bias control in prognostic and pharmacoepidemiological studies of different drugs and treatments. His collaborative research includes arthritis, cardiovascular, and cancer epidemiology. He is the Nominated Principal Investigator on 2 major grants from the Drug Safety & Effectiveness Network (DSEN) of the Canadian Institutes for Health Research for enhancing methodology of populationbased longitudinal studies of drug safety and comparative effectiveness. He published >340 papers, and was invited speaker at > 40 major international conferences on 6 continents. He is the co-chair of the international STRATOS initiative for improving the analyses of observational studies of health.
