Title : Anti-diabetic effect of the African Adansonia digitata L. fruit extract action mechanisms in relation to its metabolite fingerprint using UPLC/MS and molecular networking

Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is a severe chronic disease affecting a large population worldwide. Africa is rich in native medicinal plants with myriad health benefits, though less explored towards the development of specific drug therapy as in diabetes. This study aims to determine medicinal plant well reported in folk medicine for its use in diabetes that is Baobab (Adansonia digitata L.) using in-vitro and in-vivo based bioassays.

Marwa received her master’s degree in Biotechnology from the American University in Cairo (AUC) in 2020. She has a bachelor’s degree in the same field, Biotechnology, but from Cairo University in 2015. Marwa was awarded from AUC for her high GPA, 3.87 on a 4.0 scale, during her master’s degree in the honors assembly in May 2020, as well as was funded with $3500 for her thesis research during her master’s degree from AUC. Marwa has 3 publications all of them are focused on modulating diabetes with natural products.
